I paid with an installment program, when will I see my refund?Updated 2 months ago
When an order paid through an installment plan (such as Shop Pay or Klarna) is refunded, the process works a bit differently than a standard refund:
Refund to the Installment Plan:
If you’ve already made payments toward your installment plan and receive a refund, the amount is generally applied directly to your remaining balance with the payment provider.
For example, if part of the balance is already paid, the refund will reduce what you still owe.
Refund to Store Credit (Gift Card):
If we issue your refund as a store credit (gift card), no funds are returned to your original form of payment.
Third-party payment providers (like Shop Pay or Klarna) will not be notified of this credit, meaning you’ll still be responsible for completing the payments on your installment plan as scheduled.
Payment Provider Process:
Shop Pay: Refunds applied to your balance will adjust what you owe. If the refund exceeds your remaining balance, the extra will be sent back to your original payment method.
Klarna: Your payment schedule will be updated to reflect the refund. If you’ve already paid in full, the refund is sent back to your original payment method.
Timing:
Refunds applied through Shop Pay or Klarna can take a little longer to appear, and may not show up immediately. Your payment provider will typically notify you once the adjustment has been processed.
Important Note:
If you have any questions about how your refund affects your installment plan, we recommend contacting your payment provider directly for clarification.
